ROAD MEET THE TEAM RIDES 2023

9/5/2023

How do they work?
contact: natehakken at gmail.com
Meet the Team rides are ready to resume in 2022! The purpose of these rides is to allow riders at all levels and abilities to get to know local Northwest teams seeking new members.
For the Seattle cycling community, Meet the Team Rides will take place on Saturdays and Sundays from September through November. Rides will primarily meet at 9:15 at Leschi Park, 201 Lakeside Ave S, Seattle 98122, with the rides departing at 9:30 and proceeding at a social, "no drop" pace around the south end of Lake Washington and returning across I-90 to Leschi.

If your team wants to host a Meet the Team ROAD ride outside Seattle, we will be happy to include your information in the ride list on the WSBA website.  Please send a message indicating where and when the ride will meet and the estimated time/distance of the ride.
If your team is interested in hosting a Seattle Meet the Team ride this year, send your preferred date and one or two alternates. To secure a date, you’ll need to provide:
1. the name and email address of a team contact (which will be published with ride details);
2. a brief statement of your team's goals and who you’re recruiting;
3. the URL of your team website.

Dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The complete schedule of ride dates and team information will be posted here, probably by mid-August.

If your team is not already listed on the WSBA Teams in the Region page, please fill out and submit this form and we’ll add you to the page so that prospective riders can read about your team.

USA Cycling recommends that each team permit its Meet the Team ride as a Non-Competitive Training Ride, which can provide general liability insurance. More information on that permitting process is available from USA Cycling:  https://usacycling.org/event-organizer/benefits-of-permitting/permit-process

WSBA 2023 Championship Events

3/15/2023

0 Comments

The WSBA Board are pleased to announce the 2023 WSBA Championship events and a redesigned WSBA Championship “race-fit” jersey. Here’s the list of races so you can plan your season around them!
  • WSBA Senior Men, Women and Road Race Championships – Independence Valley Road Race on May 13th
  • WSBA Junior Road Race Championships are now TBD
  • WSBA Senior Men, Women Criterium Championships  – Volunteer Park on June 17th
  • WSBA Masters Road Championships – RC3 Omnium’s Liberty Road Race on July 15th
  • WSBA Masters and Junior Criterium Championships – Vancouver Courthouse Criterium on Aug 12th
  • WSBA Time Trial Championships – TBD in August
  • WSBA Junior/Masters Track Championships – August 25-27th
  • WSBA Elite Track Championships – various nights in August
  • WSBA Cyclocross Championships – Ft. Steilacoom on October, 29th
We have almost finished planning the Junior WSBA Road Race Championships and a possible Mountain Bike XC WSBA Championship event in August. We will share details about these soon! As always, follow the WSBA calendar for the latest info http://www.wsbaracing.org/calendar.html

Winners are highly encouraged to be current WSBA members as they will be recognized as WSBA Champions (join here: https://www.bikereg.com/wsba2023). WSBA Champions of the Road Race, Criterium, TT and Cyclocross Championships events will receive a Championship Jersey and a USAC medal – all of the top 3 receive medals! Winners at the Track, as in prior years, will have the opportunity to purchase a championship jersey. Depending on the format and sanctioning for the Mountain Bike XC Championships, we may or may not be offering jerseys/medals. We are working on more cool benefits that would be available to our WSBA Champions and we will announce these before our first event in May, IVRR.

Our promoters, teams and volunteers make this great list of championship events possible! Let’s show them our support by planning to race. And if that isn’t incentive enough…read on and feast your eyes on a work of art.

We have a new and redesigned WSBA Championship Jersey! We love it and hope you do too. They are a very high end, race fit and very “aero” jersey from Alé (Alé is a partial sponsor of the jerseys – woot woot!) from their PRR line. We will have both men’s and women’s fit jerseys, too. Below is what they will look like.

Did you win a state championship in 2022  and do you want one of these new WSBA Champ jerseys? We will be offering these for sale at an excellent price – but only to 2022 WSBA champs – I’ll be first in line to grab one! Current 2023 State Champions will be able to buy additional jerseys, If they want to (one for the wall, one for racing). I will send an email when we have the store set up with instructions. Stay tuned.
