WSBA Cross Upgrade Guidelines
The WSBA will accept and review Cyclocross upgrade requests based on the following parameters as to address the challenges presented by the number of non-USAC sanctioned cross events in our region.
Upgrade utilizing 1 of the 3 options below. Utilizing a combination of options will not be considered.
Option 1: Utilize standard USAC upgrade protocol as described in the USAC Rulebook and identified here: http://www.usacycling.org/category-upgrade-information.htm
Option 2: Utilize USAC and/or unsanctioned event results to submit for an upgrade.
Option 3: Upgrade based on results in a self-seeded category in an unsanctioned event
*Race results for unsanctioned races must be published on or after January 1, 2015 to be considered for upgrades. Upgrade points and results earned in unsanctioned races will not expire.

- Results from USAC races to be awarded points as described in the USAC rulebook and identified here: http://www.usacycling.org/category-upgrade-information.htm
- Results from unsanctioned events* are to be awarded points in accordance with the schedule outlined in the USAC rulebook and in the published guidelines here: http://www.usacycling.org/category-upgrade-information.htm
- Categories at unsanctioned events must match exactly to the USAC category guidelines. (Ex. Cat A/B/C and Single Speed races will not be accepted)
- Race results must be published on www.usacycling.org or www.crossresults.com
- This option may not be utilized for upgrades to Category 1
Option 3: Upgrade based on results in a self-seeded category in an unsanctioned event
- Submit 5 race results from the self-seeded category* from unsanctioned events where a finish in the top 25% was achieved
- Categories at unsanctioned events must match exactly to the USAC category guidelines. (Ex. Cat A/B/C and Single Speed races will not be accepted)
- Submitted race results must be in a category higher than the category listed on the riders USAC license.
- Race results must be published on www.usacycling.org or www.crossresults.com
- This option may not be utilized for upgrades to Category 1
*Race results for unsanctioned races must be published on or after January 1, 2015 to be considered for upgrades. Upgrade points and results earned in unsanctioned races will not expire.
